What is VStream TV Media Streamer?
VStream TV product is a multimedia player that is able to connect to any entertainment center and provide movies, TV shows, music and radio stations, 3D games, internet access and much more. You can use the device as a web browser, and it also has email, video chat, Facebook and many other apps that are available for Android. It's operating system is actually based on Android 4.4 and it connects to Google Play Store, allowing the installation of many other apps. The internet connection can be established either through the built-in WiFi receiver or an Ethernet cable, but to function properly the device requires a data connection with a speed of at least 8MB/s. You can actually test the internet speed through the official website and make sure that that you won't have any streaming issues.
How does VStream TV work?
vstreamtv supports most standard video formats (and resolutions up to 1080p), and the AV output allows it to be connected to basically any TV or other type of video display. It comes with a remote control, and it can also be used through USB mouse and keyboard, as it has 4 USB ports. It also has a card reader (SD, SDMC, MMC), and it's interface is multilingual.
The device should be very easy to install, requiring only a power source, an internet connection and of course an entertainment center or other types of video and audio receivers. It has a very user friendly interface, with well organized apps that will give you instant access to many movies and TV shows. You'll even be able to watch the newest and most popular releases, including everybody's favorite "Game of Thrones", which is usually available only from HBO. And unlike the most popular streaming services, VStream TV Media Streamer offers TV shows in their entirety, with complete seasons and the newest episodes available anytime. Users also have access to more than 500 radio stations and popular music apps, like Apple's Itunes or SoundCloud. There's even an app that allows users to watch live sporting events, so it looks like the device really is able to provide virtually endless possibilities of video and audio entertainment.
Where can I find VStream TV?
VStream TV is available through it's official website, http://www.vstreamtv.com/rtitus at the price of $399.00 plus $14 in shipping and handling. The product can also be shipped internationally for a fee of $45, and it comes with a one year warranty. The company offers a 7 day return policy, but it's extended to 21 days for international orders. And in this case there will be a $5 return fee, and the customers will also have to pay for the shipping and handling, although it will cost them less than the initial $45.
But the device can also be purchased from it's distributors, and apparently anyone can become one by joining the affiliate program. But becoming an affiliate will require a monthly subscription, which is available in two different forms. The basic option is the ProMember membership and it's available for $68.50 a month,. But with this second option they'll have access to discounts from more than 300,000 businesses, and also travel savings and sales training seminars. It seems like all these features can be accessed through a smartphone app, and the user should be able to save thousand of dollars a year by using them. And the affiliate program also comes with discounts for packages containing 1, 3, or 6 devices, which can be used for personal, home or retail purposes respectively. How exactly this affiliate program works is known in detail only by the members, but they're supposed to make a nice commission both from reselling the products and recruiting new members, as it's the case with all multi-level marketing businesses.
What are the pros?
The company is relatively new (as it seems like it has been started just at the beginning of the year), so not many customer reviews are available yet. But when it comes to the few we do have, some state that VStream TV works as expected, while others complain about the product only lasting for a few weeks before becoming useless. It seems like opinions are divided at this time, so we can't really create a real image about this product's quality, but it does seem very easy to use, and most importantly it does provide all the movies and TV shows that it advertises. Customers have access to basically free entertainment, with no need for cable subscriptions or paid streaming services. But someone has to be paying for all this content, and it's hard to understand how that would be possible.
What are the cons?
There's a reason why Netflix (because the company compares VStream TV to this particular service) can only be accessed through a paid membership. The company has to pay distribution fees for all the content that it's provided to it's users, which often is not even as complete as the subscribers would like. Most shows are not available in complete seasons, never mind the newest episodes, which are very difficult to obtain. The content itself is created by investing large amounts of money, and the owners would never allow free distribution. And whether if constantly paying for a streaming service seems fair or not, the truth is that watching movies or cable TV shows for free can't possibly be legal.
VStream TV emerged with all it's content already available, and this could only mean that they have paid billions of dollars to the owners before making it public, which seems pretty much impossible. All the shows are mostly likely pirated, as are all the other forms of entertainment available through the device. This is not an uncommon practice, as many other companies offer similar products, sometimes at much better prices. And given that they don't have to pay anything to the content owners, it's easy to understand why.
Bottom line
VStream TV Media Streamer might do what it promises, but we can't recommend a product that helps the consumers while most likely functioning based on an illegal system. And beyond being against the law (which means that it might attract penalties even for it's users), these practices harm the producing companies, and that is just as unethical as in the case of scammers taking advantage of unsuspecting customer.
